Plumbers by city
Plumbers by city in California.
Most people look by town rather than county. These are the California cities with the most listed businesses — each is the address the business gives in public records, not a claim about how far it will travel.
We track 31,022 state-listed plumbers in Texas, Minnesota, Washington, California and Nevada — yours may already be listed. Create or claim your free profile and get quote requests from homeowners in the counties you serve.
California plumbing permits come from the building department of the city or county with jurisdiction; CSLB licenses the contractor.
California licenses plumbing contractors at the state level through the Contractors State License Board (CSLB), in classification C-36. Permits and inspections are local: state contractor law leaves a city or county its power to regulate installations through a system of permits and inspections (B&P Code § 7032), and a city or county that requires a building permit must have each applicant state that they hold a CSLB license in full force, with its number, or why they are exempt (§ 7031.5). A plumbing permit comes from the building department of the city or county with jurisdiction over the address.
A county page here is the list of verified companies filed in that county, not a permit rule. Verified provider listings are thinner: we only list a company once we’ve matched it to a current CSLB license, so many counties show none yet. We’d rather show the gap than pad the directory with names we haven’t checked. How we verify
