Permit guides

Texas plumbing permits,
city by city, county by county.

Who issues a plumbing permit in each Texas city, what it costs, which forms you need and which professionals the process requires, sourced from the permit office itself, never from other websites.

Who issues plumbing permits in Texas

Texas licenses plumbers at the state level through TSBPE, but plumbing permits are issued by the city with jurisdiction — its building or development-services department. Outside city limits there is generally no residential plumbing permit authority, which is not the same as no rules: the state-adopted plumbing code still binds the work.

What each Texas plumbing permit guide covers

The permitting authority’s name, phone, and address. Current fees, from the authority’s own schedule, with dates. Required steps and professionals. Links to official forms — and an honest note wherever a fee or rule couldn’t be verified.

Published guides

29 Texas plumbing permit guides, one per city.

Each guide is published only after its fees and process are checked against the issuing office’s own published rules.

Each guide covers one city and is filed under its county. We publish a city’s guide only after verifying its fees and process against the issuing office’s own published rules — coverage grows city by city rather than appearing all at once. Every Texas county page lists the verified companies filed in that county and links the city guides inside it.
